KOMO is looking for an experienced main news anchor with a proven track record of excellence on all platforms. This position requires a solid broadcaster skilled at handling live breaking news and other unscripted moments, both in-studio and on location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent storytelling and writing skills, with a body of work that reflects an ability to regularly create relevant, impactful stories.
KOMO anchors collaborate on our shows and produce content daily, for television, digital and social media. A candidate for this position must understand and embrace these concepts and be ready, willing and able to consistently engage with the audience.
In short, we are seeking a seasoned broadcast professional who's also a contemporary content creator-a serious television journalist who's also a digital native. To be considered, you'll need to show evidence of both.
As a KOMO anchor, you are expected to be a leader-by-example and a great newsroom citizen. We are very serious about holding our anchors to the highest journalistic standards.
Essential Duties and Requirements include the following:
Qualifications- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This is not a position for beginners. Five to seven years anchoring experience in a mid-sized to upper-ranked market is required.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $180,000.00 to $250,000.00. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
